Aren't "cold lasers" better therapy devices? Not what research says...recent, credible, medical literature indicates that it is the wavelength of the light that is responsible (630nm being a very effective wavelength) for the therapeutic effect. The coherence of the light and presence of "light speckles" in the tissue has not been shown to produce any additional therapeutic benefits. There is some suggestion that "cold lasers" may be effective with shorter treatment durations compared to LEDs, and perhaps more effective for treatment of some specific conditions, however, there appears to be no scientific evidence that disputes that LED therapy is useful and effective. More expensive does not necessarily mean "better".
A "cold laser" vendor told me "lasers" penetrate the tissue much further than LEDs, is this true? Not what research says...it is the wavelength of the light beam that is important for tissue penetration, not the coherence of the light source. Light photons at wavelengths between 630-800 nm travel 23 cm through the surface tissue, regardless of the light source. However, noncoherent light diffuses whereas a true coherent laser will not. The only practical application this I can see is if you intended to use the laser from across the room (which I think would be a rather odd thing to do). LEDs do require proximity to the area being treated, and thus, the MedLight™ 630 PRO is designed to allow maximum comfort with minimal diffusion. Read the actual scientific literature and research findings for yourself on our technology and resources pages.
Is the MedLight™ 630 PRO a "cold laser" therapy device? The MedLight™ 630 PRO uses Light Emitting Diodes (LED) to generate monochromatic near-InfraRed light photons to produce its therapeutic benefits. These devices, like "cold lasers", allow for production of monochromatic wavelengths of light for therapeutic use. Some differences appear to be: LEDs produce less coherent light than a "cold laser" (which, you will find, appears to be irrelevant to therapeutic tissue response) and LEDs are cleared for over-the- counter use while "cold lasers" are prescription use only (must be administered by a health care professional). The MedLight™ 630 PRO is not intended to replace your in-office Low Level Laser Therapy device, it's purpose is to provide you and your patients an alternative method of self administered, at home, pain relief without the use of over-the-counter drugs and medications.

How does the MedLight™ 630 PRO work? Researchers have found that animal tissues (skin, muscle, nerve, and bone) experience incerased cellular activity when exposed to narrow band near IR energy from light emitting diodes (LEDs). It appears the absorption of this energy causes the tissue to optimize their preprogrammed cellular function and promotes localized temperature increase and blood circulation. This increased cellular activity and increased local blood circulation produces a pain relief response from the damaged tissue and inflamed cells while causing a gental warming sensation. It is hypothesized that an additional mechanism may be as a result of the light photons modulating mitochondrial functions, elevating ATP synthesis, and cell proliferation. Our goal is to provide the consumer an alternative method of self administered pain relief without the use of over-the-counter drugs, medications, or surgery.
How do I know the MedLight™ 630 PRO will work as intended? The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Division of General, Restorative, and Neurological Devices has cleared the MedLight™ 630 PRO for over-the-counter use 510(k) K042814. Our return policy is a 30 days unconditional return. If you just don't like it we'll take it back.
You decide, which do you think is REALLY "better"? "cold lasers" MedLight™ 630 PRO Cost: $3,000-7,000+ <$200 FDA Cleared Use: prescription use over-the-counter use Therapeutic Benefit: "exact same biological response"
How can you be selling these devices for only $200 when other similar therapy devices appear to cost thousands of dollars? It's not clear why other companies are charging such high prices for their devices when the MedLight™ 630 PRO is a fraction of the price and produces similar therapeutic benefits; it appears the greatest expense may be the assembly of the "cold laser" itself versus the significantly less expensive LEDs. We have stream-lined the assembly of our product to allow us to significantly reduce the costs associated with construction and allow mass commercial quality production of our devices to get the MedLight™ 630 PRO to you at a reasonable price to make this technology available to the average consumer. Rest assured the components are of the highest quality and each device comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
